Lipoedema Hero 2026: Bringing Our Community Together

As every June during Lipoedema Awareness Month, we once again had the pleasure of welcoming an incredible group of women to the LIPOELASTIC headquarters in the Czech Republic for our annual Lipoedema Hero gathering.

Coming from different countries, backgrounds and stages of their lipoedema journey, our ambassadors spent two inspiring days together sharing experiences, learning from one another and helping us shape the future of support for women living with this condition.

Bringing the Community Together

Over the course of two days, our ambassadors toured our production facilities, met with members of our product development and marketing teams, participated in discussions and workshops, and spent time simply getting to know one another. One of the highlights of the event was a mental wellbeing workshop led by one of our ambassadors, opening up important conversations around confidence, self-care and the emotional side of living with a chronic condition.

Some of the most valuable moments, however, happened between the planned activities — over coffee, during dinner, while creating content together or simply sharing personal experiences with women who truly understand what living with lipoedema can be like.

The Things People Don't Always See

One of the most meaningful parts of the event was an open discussion about the realities of living with lipoedema. The conversation quickly moved beyond physical symptoms. The women spoke about how factors such as weather, stress, sleep, travel and hormonal changes can affect their symptoms and daily lives. They shared experiences of managing flare-ups, navigating uncertainty and dealing with the emotional side of a chronic condition.

What stood out most was how important these conversations are. While awareness of lipoedema continues to grow, many women still feel misunderstood or struggle to find people who truly relate to their experiences.

Compression Is Personal

Naturally, compression garments were also a frequent topic of discussion.

What became clear once again is that there is no universal solution. Different women choose different garments depending on their symptoms, daily activities, travel plans, comfort preferences and even where they are in their menstrual cycle.

These insights are incredibly valuable to us. Listening to how women use compression in real life helps us better understand their needs and continue developing products that support different lifestyles and stages of the lipoedema journey.

Creating Something Special

The second day took place in the studio, where our ambassadors stepped in front of the camera to help us create new content that will support future awareness campaigns, community projects and exciting new developments.

While we're keeping some of those projects under wraps for now, we're looking forward to sharing more in the months ahead.

Every year, we leave this event feeling inspired. Inspired by the openness with which our ambassadors share their experiences. By their willingness to support other women. And by the sense of community that continues to grow with every new person who joins us.

To all of our Lipoedema Heroes: thank you for your honesty, your courage and your commitment to raising awareness of lipoedema. Thank you for sharing your stories, your experiences and a part of yourselves with our community.
